Mount Morris, Pa.— Round eight of the Grand National Cross Country Series took place at the Mathew’s Farm, directly across the street from the iconic High Point raceway in southern Pennsylvania, under extremely dry and warm conditions. Premier class XC-1 teammates Grant Baylor and Josh Strang would overcome poor starts and visibility to take home top ten finishes aboard their KX™450X machines.

As the race began, the field immediately began kicking up dust, making it nearly impossible to see, which didn’t lend a hand to both Baylor and Strang, who would fail to gain advantageous positions off of the start before entering the woods. Once in the woods, the duo was not able to make quick passes on the opening laps, with Baylor coming through in the seventh place position and Strang in the tenth place position. After enduring silt and heat over six laps of racing on the 12.5-mile course, Baylor would be able to work his way into fifth place at the conclusion of the event, with Strang coming through in tenth place.

The next round of the GNCC series will take place deep in the mountains of West Virginia at the Snowshoe Mountain Resort on the 25th of June for round nine of the GNCC series. Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy®/Kawasaki will be coming into the weekend looking to rebound from previous races in order to carry momentum into the summer break post-round nine.
