Greensboro, Ga. - Round five of the AMA National Enduro Series was held over the weekend at the long-running Cherokee Enduro in Greensboro, Georgia, where Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy®/Kawasaki racer Grant Baylor sliced his way through his competition and the tight Georgia pines under torrential downpours to pilot his KX™450X to victory.
Coming off a disappointing fifth-place finish at the previous round in Virginia, the defending NEPG Pro1 champion, Grant Baylor, was looking for redemption coming into the fifth round of the series over the weekend in Georgia, and redemption he found. After opening the day with a win in the first section, Grant never looked back as he swept the next four sections before a major storm passed through the area, causing the race officials to call the race one section early.
"I've always had good results here in the past, and I knew if I wanted to win all the tests, then this was the one to do it at. I just tried to keep it on two wheels all day, only falling over twice in the first section, but other than that, it was an awesome day," said Baylor.
Grant now holds a 19-point lead over his closest adversary in the championship points race heading into the sixth round of the NEPG series in the mountains of Pennsylvania in one month's time at the Rattlesnake National Enduro.
