Millfield, Oh.— Round seven of the Grand National Cross Country Series took place at the Sunday Creek Raceway for the long-running John Penton GNCC, where heavy storms early in the weekend would once again leave treacherous conditions for Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/Kawasaki riders, Josh Strang and Grant Baylor, to contend with over the course of the three-hour event.

The no. 17 of Josh Strang would get off to a great start, rounding the second corner in the battle for the lead before rocketing his KX450X™ ahead of the competition to overtake take the field as they entered the woods. The no. 314 of Grant Baylor, however, would have a less than ideal start than his teammate, entering the woods at the tail end of the field. At the end of lap one of racing around the 13-mile track, Strang would slip a few positions to fifth, with Grant climbing a few positions to seventh. Over the next few laps, the duo would continue to swap positions with their competition, with Strang climbing his way up to third on lap four and Baylor climbing up to the fifth-place position before both riders would slip in the last hour of the race, giving up time. When the checkered flag was flown, Strang would cross the line in the fourth-place position, only one second behind the third-place rider. Baylor would come through just a couple of minutes later in the sixth-place position.

In a matter of two weeks time, Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/Kawasaki will be back for more racing in between the arrows in the mountains of West Virginia at High Point Raceway for the eighth round of the GNCC Series.
