Crawfordsville, In.—Babbitt’s Online/Monster Energy®/Kawasaki Team Green™ took on the sixth round of the GNCC series over the weekend at the famous Ironman MX facility in western Indiana. Overnight thunder and hail storms on Saturday left the 10.5-mile track soaked with plenty of mud bogs and water crossings for the No. 17 of Josh Strang and the No. 314 of Grant Baylor to contest with while defending XC-2 champion Lyndon Snodgrass would unfortunately not be able to contest the race due to a lingering sickness.

The normal 1 p.m. race would be pushed back an hour due to the number of riders from the previous a.m. race still stuck on the deteriorated course. Still, once the racing began, XC-1 pilots Josh Strang and Grant Baylor would suffer from bad starts and enter the muddy woods toward the back of the field. The two KX450X™ aces would pick their way through the treacherous track together on the first two laps before previous race winner Grant Baylor was involved in a crash that prevented his motorcycle from continuing. Strang would continue to motor his Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/Kawasaki through the field over the course of the 8-lap race to finish the event in the fifth-place position in class XC-1.

In just under two weeks, Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/Kawasaki will be back to GNCC racing in the state of Ohio at Sunday Creek Raceway for the longstanding John Penton GNCC, where Josh Strang took the overall win last year.
