It’s January in West Michigan, and you’re in the thick of winter. You’ve been waiting all year for this season. You’ve got all your winter gear out of storage, and your snowmobile is prepped, primed, and ready to rock. There’s only one problem, there’s no snow. What do you do?

Sure, you can make plans to travel to the UP for a Winter Wonderland weekend excursion. This will cost you time and money, or you can stay home, layer up, take advantage of this mild winter weather, and do some trail riding at Cedar Creek Motorsports Trail.

Cedar Creek Motorsports Trail is located in Holton, Twin Lake, and Muskegon. The trail is on flat to rolling terrain, with its hilliest section to the south of the staging area. The trail parallels Cedar Creek for several miles and has two bridge crossings. The trail is a 24-mile, single-track trail and is marked with orange triangle confidence markers.

The trail is open year-round to dirt bikes, ATVs, and UTVs with a maximum width of 50 inches or less. All vehicles must have an MI-ORV sticker, as well as a spark arrestor exhaust silencer or end cap.

So if you're looking to beat the winter blues, head over to Cedar Creek to get your midwinter adrenaline fix while you wait for snow or spring. Whichever one comes first. Have fun and ride safe, Babbitt’s fans.
